Ann Arbor, MI — L-3 EOTech, Inc., a manufacturer of the HOLOgraphic Weapon Sight announced the receipt of a purchase order for 3000 sights for use by the Texas department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers.
This marks the largest single purchase of L-3 EOTech HOLOgraphic Weapon Sights by a state agency and comes after almost 2 years of testing and field evaluations conducted by the State of Texas to supply the officers with improved weapons systems to meet the increasing challenges they meet in the field.
The purchase of 3000 L-3 EOTech HOLOgraphic Weapon Sights will be deployed with an equal number of new Bushmaster M-4, 5.56 cal rifles. Every Texas Department of Public Safety Officer that is issued a rifle will receive comprehensive training and the new Bushmaster M-4 with an L-3 EOTech HOLOgraphic Weapon Sight.
The new weapon system offers increased range, capacity and durability. In testing, the addition of the new L-3 EOTech HOLOgraphic Weapon Sight improved the officers speed to acquire a target or respond to a threat, accuracy at close and long range as well as improved performance in all lighting conditions. The combination improved the operators' confidence and overall shooting scores.
In 2005 EOTech was acquired by L-3 Communications.
